Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Example Rescue
What is Example Rescue?
Example Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based dog rescue serving Riverside County, CA and nearby areas. We were founded in late 2025.
What does 'foster-based' mean?
It means we don't have a physical shelter. Instead, all of our dogs live in volunteer foster homes until they're adopted. This helps dogs decompress in a home environment and shows us their true personality.
Where do your dogs come from?
We pull dogs from local shelters and also accept limited owner surrenders when we have the capacity.
How do I adopt a dog?
Start by browsing our available dogs on Petfinder. If you see a dog you like, message us and we'll send you an application. After that, we'll have a phone call, arrange a meet-and-greet, and if all goes well, you'll sign an adoption contract.
How do I become a foster?
Fill out our foster application form (linked on our Foster page). We'll review your application, have a phone call with you, and then match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle.
What does fostering involve?
Fosters provide daily care, love, and socialization for their foster dog. We cover veterinary care, food, and supplies. We currently check in with fosters via text and social media messages.
How can I donate?
You can donate through PayPal—just visit our Donate page for the link. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
What is the adoption fee?
Details coming soon. Please contact us for current information about adoption fees.
Do you have a physical location?
No, we're a foster-based rescue, so we don't have a shelter facility. All of our dogs live in foster homes throughout Riverside County and nearby areas.
